Powell has vast experience in Environmental, Health and Safety Management. Powell also is an expert in Forklift Operations Training (PIT), with over 40 years experience certifying in excess of 3,000 Forklift Operators.

Over the years Powell has been used as an expert witness, assisting in litigations by reviewing testimonies and comparing them with facts in the case to specific regulations involved. In 2005 CAN Insurance Company honored Powell as the Risk Manager of the Year.

Some of the certifications that Powell holds are: Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM) Certified Trainer (CT) and 10 & 30 Hour OSHA Outreach Trainer.
